In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God
John 1:1-2
Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation; for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities -- all things were created through him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent.
For in him all the fulness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. - Colossians 1: 12 - 20
In the beginning was the Word . . .
There is a connection between the Lord's prophecy for me last year entitled "Heaven is Yours" and His prophecy for me this year under the theme "Great Things". The beginning is always founded and grounded by His Word.
In Isaiah 65:17, the Lord said, "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind."
Last year, God created for me new heavens and a new earth. He brought me to new places, and new heights that I have never dreamed of. His plans for me were too far greater than that of my own. As one preacher said, "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans".
This year, God declared Great Things that will happen in my life. All former things shall no longer be remembered nor come to mind. In simple terms, the Lord wants me to "forget the past".
Truly, God made me move forward than backwards. He wants me to focus on what is ahead than look back at my past mistakes in life.
All glory and honor belongs to God alone who makes all things work for good to those who love Him!
